Hi all! My name is Janine. I'm the maintainer of this community. I haven't had a chance to really set it up yet, but I plan to do that eventually. If you have any good resources that you think should be included on the profile page, feel free to comment here with them.
I first heard about the concept of raw feeding in 2005, when I worked at a small pet supply store. They sold some commercial raw food diets there. I didn't own a dog at the time, but the concept interested me, so I did tons of research. I honestly did not need much convincing...since it's a fact that dogs are a subspecies of wolves, it made perfect sense to me that they should eat food like wolves do.
By the time I got Fudge in March 2006, I was ready to start her on raw food. She took to it easily (she was only 3.5 months old at the time), and I never looked back. I have modified the way I feed the diet over time (I used to feed pureed veggies, but I don't anymore), but she's been eating raw food since then and is doing great. She's 3 years old now.
